MY THOUGHTS OF YOU

How to define what matters to me
Is it the touch of a kiss, the warmth of a hug,
Or the sight of a caged bird being set free,
Should I change for the world, or remain as I feel,
Like a bug in a rug that will never be real.

Do I cherish the love that I seek every day,
The millions of times that I've lost my way,
Is there hope for my future lying in wait,
Or do I stand alone with no key for the gate.

The time will approach and one day when I'm old,
All that is left is a broken heart from the cold,
But to my friends that I've shared the laughs and the tears,
The smiles, the love, the treasures the fondness,
I will never feel old, alone or forgotten,
As you have all been there for me to lessen my fears.

What do you have that fills my needs,
That comforts, pleases and nourishes the seeds,
There are moments when words cut through the heart,
When others don't care how they tear you apart,
But you all have that one thing that carries me on,
To another place where nothing goes wrong,
That one special treasure you have no problem sharing,
The hugs, the smiles, the funny jokes and the caring,
Only one word describes every moment of truth,
The one thing I will always give back to you,
Remember my friends it's all about "KINDNESS"
WOW, SM...

this is truly beautiful sentiment...but certainly not unexpected from someone who is always so sweet to everyone. I truly admire you...and wish I had more of your patience...but alas, I think I've just been "stepped on" too many times...and I confess that my patience has grown weak & worn. In any case, THANK YOU for sharin'
your inspirational words with us...and may you be richly rewarded for your kind heart & loving spirit. I'm truly honored to know ya & be called your friend.

HUGE monkey hugs,
Guess who?

Hand on heart Thank you
As I have traveled through life I have come to realize a few things. One is people come and go through out your life. Those that stay, are priceless. Friendship never recedes, it continually evolves, and grows stronger. For those that have been in my life I thank you. For those that continue to be in my life, I embrace you. Without you all, my life would be less rich.

Your poem is beautiful SimplyMe.  It sounds like you are leaving, and if that is the case, I want to say, you have always treated me with such kindness and I thank you for that, from my heart
