Ever wonder where that name came from?

If you zoom in on the map of B.C. you can see Transcanada hiway from Lake Louise to Golden, you can see the rump of the horse and the kicking leg. The river you follow is "Kicking Horse River" which flows into the Columbia river just west of Golden B.C.

It was one of the dangerous route that I been on, but since then, there has been some improvement on this pass just before you go west to Golden. Many sharp turns and downhill into Golden, some truckers have trouble getting up that hill going east, as it is a steep grade, they are still working on that part. Some of the bridges have been change, no more 90% turn on and off that bridge crossing the Kicking Horse River.
