  • I was born in Edinburgh and spent my time there and in SW Scotland until I graduated from Edinburgh University in1953. I am a nonsmoker, my degree is in Electrical Engineering and I worked in R&D in electronics and communications before becoming involved in strategic policy analysis in Defence and Technology with national governments, NATO and EC. Had spells working in The Hague and Brussels.
    My work took me on visits to the Western Europe, USA, South Africa and Australia. I would like to visit some of the places again and have time to see them properly.

    Not in the least religious, I like intellectual challenge, travel (but not on my own), 16 years ago I discovered modern jive and soon became addicted and, until about 8 years ago, I was out jiving 4 nights a week, last week I only managed 2 nights. I also do ballroom, latin and salsa. Have wide interests and can usually find a point of contact with most people.
    I joined the Liberal Party in November 1961 and quickly became involved in organising and fighting elections. I'm still a member of the LibDems and still do a bit of leaflet delivery and canvassing. I'm interested in political discussion but would not fall out over it.

    I'm looking for dancer (jive, ballroom, latin, salsa), who enjoys travel, intellectual challenge, cuddles and fun. Someone with an enquiring mind and a sense of humour who can challenge me and make my smile even bigger. Also looking for someone who is young in spirit and style.
