Hi Annie --

I'm new to the forum ( pls see my profile: "Ellie149'); just spotted your cry for help and am rushing to help with what I can.

I too have a thyroid contion (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an immune disorder affecting the thyroid gland) and am as well-read and versed in Thyroid disorders as can be. To give you any tips and advice, I need to know more about your thyroid:
1. Is it low or overactive? Any formal diagnoses and tests?
2. What are you taking for it?

Annie, there is medication for both hypo and hyperthyroidism, less so for Hashimoto's and Graves, but natural homeopatic/chiropractic/naturopathic protocols work better or at least in conjuction with meds. I can refer you to a couple of practitioners who have marked breakthroughs in treating thyroid conditions and who work with international patients ONLINE!

Write to me if you wish to discuss this further.

Best,
Ellie

I have Hashimotos and have taken Synthroid for years. While the medication is merely a supplement I regard it as essential. If taking a naturopathic or similar thyroid substitute, one should still have it in combination with the synthroid or levathyroxine medication, assessed by a qualified holistic medical practitioner.

Thank you for your advice I am not taking any medication now, I have tried to lose the weight but to no avail, gone to aerobics and the gym twice a week but its not moving.love to walk. I really think of giving up, careful with my diet too.
Don't know what to do next.

I was hyperthyroid before my thyroidectomy in 1985 and after the operation I was hypothyroid.

Interesting fact, thyroid medication is the most used drug of any drug in the world.
