Just thought I'd ask if you like classical music.

Have you been to any performances recently?

Some day, I would like to go to the Teatro alla Scala and see a Giuseppe Verdi Opera or perhaps Vienna or Moscow or ... well you get the idea.

I love classical music (and other kinds too)..but I am not going to any major concert halls,not even famous ones.Mostly because it is to far to travel.
I play my favourite recordings on my home equipment and sit in the garden to listen to it.
I understand your desire ..hopefully you will enjoy the place AND the music when you get there!

Thanks for the kind words. I also like other kinds and in fact frequently listen to a uniquen music in another extreme, Euro Trance, ha ha.

Really good music when Classical is just not the right kind.

I like some classical music but the only composer that I really like is Bach. I would say that I am more into jazz,folk,classical rock and reggae.Love Bob Marley. The common man's philosopher. His lyrics are simple but so true..

Yes, but mainly Chords (or Strings if you like). Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and certainly Schubert's Quintet D. 956. My favourite: Ave Maria, by Gounod - always brings tears to my eyes.

Im a music lover and I have an open mind to music I have not heard. I suppose I feel that it is wrong to discount music because of its genre. There is music of all kinds in my collection; Rock, classical, jazz, blues, folk, pop. The only types I find it difficult to appreciate is rap(not really music, more talking!) and country(usually over sentimental) but there are one or two of these types in my collection too!
I feel that music reflects and exaggerates moods and there is music to suit all situations.

Thanks for sharing that link Denise. Actually Gracie was my fathers favourite singer! I think he liked her humour and personality as much as her singing. I have an unusual one to share with you. He is a self taught Aborigine singer called Gurrumul who was brought up in a remote area of Northern Australia where the only guitar was right handed so he learned to play it upside down! A remarkable voice though!

There are two others that come to mind Denise because I have re-released CDs in my music collection; namely Vera Lynn and George Formby. The George Formby album which I bought online from Play.com was the favoutite at the time amongst the Play.com staff who were not born at the time the songs were popular! The re-released Vera Lynn hits album reached No 1 in the album charts and she thus became the oldest artist to achieve this distinction!

I like all kinds of music.,except the one that feels somebody is hitting me over the head with a hammer, my favorite are western and than the oldys ,classic music I do like a lot but have to be in the mood, I love driving and classic music is relaxing keeps me many time from road rage lol its been a long time that I seen any plays the last one was west side story, but I seen many always had to read so that I now what was going on, I loved ,night in Venice,carmen.there to many to remember,I do also love engelbert humperdink,daen martin,perry como,and and and ........
but I hear the music and I know exactly where it is from and where I was at the time seen it

I think that I get more enjoyment out of modern interpretations of classical music.
I adore Debussy, particularly 'Clare de Lune'.
But I also enjoy the workings of electronic musicians, of the likes of Isao Tomita. Who has created amazing versions of Debussy, Ravel and Muggorskys work. Including his 'Pictures at an exhibition'.
