I use to write poems years ago and stories too but left it behind for family(bad excuse!!) .have started to write again and hopfully will try the poetry again,god knows had loads of insoirations through my life

lovepoetryc, I write poetry of a rather laidback kind, it appears simple but does get published from time to time, and people compliment me on it. I am not educated in the fine points of poetic criticism tho.

Hi all,
I also write a bit a small bit of poetry, mainly as a distraction from life. This is a Sevenling I wrote after coming across the works of Anna Akamatova, a russian poet.

Tunic pressed, gleaming polished boots,
Green beret, correctly placed with badge
Glistening in the sun.

Blood stained and torn, ripped sleeves
which once held arms, now lying in the
Mud and rain.

War destroys the very fabric !
