I do that Dave as they come from the threads I have put a watch on.

it takes me there....but there is no where to login, so I have to remember what thread it was and log in......never found a forum like that.

Hi Justme

I had eye surgery a few years ago. I was young to develop cataracts and the doctor said mine developed quickly because of that. I had my eyes done, one at at time, one in April and the other in June. I know how scary it is to know it's coming. After the surgery, I was amazed at how much I worried and how most of the worrying was unnecessary. It took several hours to prep - you have to have your pupils dilated with drops and there's the freezing and the time between to let each of the drops settle in before administering the next. The actual operation was 10 minutes, and people I know who are having it now are having less trouble than I did, and I'm talking people in their upper 80's. You have a first rate chance of having little or no complications except that they told me to have someone to be with for the first 3 days. My biggest problem was the fact that before the operation I was legally blind without my glasses so after the first eye, I couldn't use the glasses and had to navigate with no help. I was living alone, but had 2 sons living nearby - one made sure I had my lunch and the other made sure I had my dinner - lucky me!
I know this won't stop you worrying any more than others telling me about their experiences stopped me worrying but it may help to make you feel a bit better, I hope, about facing the surgery.
Do take care and I will catch you online sometime - I am not a premium member so don't have chat privileges, but we seem to be doing pretty well here. I do visit the chat room, and may see you there if this new job ever gives me the right time off.

Thanks for all the great info, I stopped off at my eye doc's today and felt much more at ease and know everything now......and she said I could be on my own accept the no bending part and have to wear my glasses etc.

she also told me much of the time I am there is just for drops as you said.

Sounds like you really did have a rough time and I'm sorry to hear this.

just don't like the no driving part until my eye heals.....I hate being couped up.

I did ok ... in a small town I could walk where I wanted to go and my sons helped with anything I couldn't handle on my own so I really was ok ... my daughter picked me up from the hospital and took me to her place for the first 3 days so I wasn't alone and then my sons took over when I got back (with instructions from their sister) so I did just fine and had no trouble.

I'm glad to hear that you talked with your doctor and got a better idea of what to expect - no knowing is worse than knowing the worst.

going to get some zzz's now ... will be on tomorrow eve or sat - have a good one 'till then...fire
