Do you have 'dog parks' near you??? A great place to meet dogs and dog people......or dog clubs??

Thank you RosesLady, yes I adore Shepherds, Zeus is very loyal, loving and very protective of me.  Luckily there is a park opp my bungalow which we go to daily and a lake at the other end of my small town (10 min walk) which is lovely a real haven of peace, we do meet a few friendly dog owners.  Trouble is a lot of people avoid us as Zeus is big and black and frightens them I think, although he is so friendly they don't give him a chance.  Dog clubs ...not one near me, moved here in August, used to live 60 miles from here so had to leave my old club.  The joy of marriage breakdown!

I'm owned by 2 dogs and 2 cats. Toby a short haired bordor collie. Winston a toy manchester terrier, Ti-Fille a siamese, and Maki a snowshoe/siamese. They give me so much unconditional love , that I can't understand people who don't like animals.

I have a miniature schnauzer and a schnoodle that I take on long walks in the bush pretty well every day where they don't have to be on a leash. We have around 8 different locations where we can do that. One is along a creek. 4 different hikes along the river. One around a lake. One in the bush area of a very large park. They haven't been on a leash for a very long time. Spoiled or what!
One loves to run and the little one has to run like stink to keep up to her. They certainly get they're exercise and it's so cute to watch them.
There are so many dogs that are locked in small kennels for hours every day while they're owners are at work. I can imagine how agitated they must get to say the least.
Can the owners not imagine themselves locked in a tiny 2x2 foot box for hours? :?

I have a 4 year old female mini schnauzer that hates getting wet. Let's just say bath time is rather interesting or when it rains hard.
