Oh what a lovely day we had! An early start and a sat nav that decided we should travel the long scenic route we parked up in the outskirts of London to travel in on the tube. Should have been simple however due to track works we had to make several changes and travel on different lines on sardine packed tubes cramped, hot and stifling,  to get to the centre of London. Once there we split up - my children and their friends making their way across London to look at the shops or museums whilst I strolled down by the river between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, taking in the extensive glass buildings, the magnificent HMS Belfast and watched the people enjoying the summer afternoon!
We all met up for The London Bridge Experience ~ a history of the bridge coupled with a tour of the tombs (complete with dangling heads, giant spiders, actors leaping out in the darkness at you and a rubber chainsaw wielding madman chasing us) ~ where I screamed myself hoarse!
Next a visit to The Scoop - a free outside theatre to be enthralled by their rendition of Toad of Toad Hall ~ beautifully simple, colourful and interactive. Then we made our way back to the car ~ the tubes slightly less packed but no less caustrophobic! Arriving back in Lincolnshire just before midnight tired but cheerful!
